Welcome to Bujinkan Sanami Dojo's home page! Our dojo is dedicated to budo taijutsu training under the guidance of Grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi and Shihan Shawn Gray. At this time all training is in South Austin outdoors as this brings a validity to the realism of the training. Budo Taijutsu sometimes refered to as Ninjutsu or Ninpo is not a sport and offers no form of competition. Training consists of 6 samurai schools and 3 ninja schools dating back hundreds of years. Taijutsu is the hand to hand aspect of training and along with this are many aspects of other training opportunities, including Suijutsu ( water training ), Weapons traditional and modern, Special ways of walking and running, and recieving techniques and the ground (ukemi). To recieve. This can be applied to all aspects of life. We all fall down, its how we get up that matters most. These are just a few of the aspects of training as it would take 1,000s of pages to truly describe the curriculum and History of taijutsu. There is more info on the about the bujinkan page and in the links there are good sites with info. If you are serious about training and this site and others cannot answer your questions do not hesitate to contact the dojo. Training is a big decision and commitment and should not be taken lightly in any application of ones life. School, Art, Music, Ect...
The theme for 2010 is Rokkon Shou Jou.
The kanji used by Soke for Roku 六 is 禄.
When it is combined with Kan such as Kanroku 貫禄, it can mean ” Regal Dignity”, or a person of high status, and influence.
Kon 根 is written as Tamashii, or the ” Soul “.
The kanji used by Soke for Shou 清 is written as Warau, or “ Laugh”.
The kanji used for Jou 浄 is written as 淨. This permeates the meaning of “ Pure, Clear,Cleansing or Purity “.
” Soke said that his rokkon shou jou has nothing to do with shugendo/ja practice and that it was more to do with living and being able to smile which, incidentally, is a natural consequence of forgetting about budo.”
” the purification of the senses through laughter!”
Let it be known that Soke says we should still focus on Saino Kon Ki as well as NO ONE has mastered this idea or principle.
Good Trianing, Good People, Good Tidings.

SAINO KON KI IS THE THEME OF NO THEME FOR 2009.
Saino Kon Ki refers to ability (Saino, 才能, さいのう), spirit (Kon, 魂, こん、たましい), and capacity (Ki, 器, き、うつわ) and has been announced by Hatsumi-soke to be the theme for this year. Connections are also a theme for the year, so being able to connect spirit with your natural abilities along with your capacity is a great challenge for us all. We have been given tools to do this with. The tools being a formless rope and a rigid sword. I have many thoughts on why these were chosen, on a basic level the rope is a wonderful tool in which to percieve connections. On the other hand the sword can cut connections which can be just as important. They both allow us to percieve the interplay between them in many lights.
